What are K-tip hair extensions?

K-tips or Keratin tips are hair extensions where the tips are made of keratin to fuse the hair to your natural strands. They tend to last longer than other alternatives on the market and, since the bond is made up of keratin instead of synthetic glues, are less damaging to the hair. Keratin hair extensions are semi-permanent, single strands of extensions that are attached to your natural hair using a bonded attachment site and a thermal machine. K-tip hair extensions are an excellent option for those who want to add length and volume to their hair without causing damage to their natural hair.

What are Invisible k-tip Extensions?

Invisible K-tip Extensions are customized k-tip bonds made out of Italian Keratin. each bond is cut to match the density of the client's hair. Hair extensions are installed to discreetly blend with clients natural hair for a more natural appearance. This style is versatile. Can be worn up in a ponytail, half up/ down and also updos. Lasts 4-6 months

How long do K-tip extensions last?

K-Tip hair extensions last between 4-6 months when properly cared for and require minimal maintenance between sets. K-Tips are great for partial sets if you're looking to add some volume or full sets to add length and thickness for a natural look.

Keratin hair extension — is a popular option for adding hair extensions for people with thinner hair. This is one of the most delicate methods to change your hairstyle.

Are KTIP extensions damaging?

KTIP Extensions are safe and gentle on all hair types! They do not damage the natural hair or scalp. They are great for fine hair and last an average of 4-6 months! ✨Ktips must be professionally installed and professionally removed!

How can I make my keratin extensions last longer?

 To prolong keratin extensions, reduce washing frequency, avoid excessive heat styling, and use gentle, sulfate-free products. Regularly brush with a boar bristle brush to keep them tangle-free.

Who would be a good candidate for K-tip extensions?​

• A client who has at least 4 inch length hair

• In order for K-tip extensions to be installed, the client must receive a blow dry or silk press on natural hair.  Thermal heat protectants will be used on the client’s natural hair.

• K-tips are good for clients who have fine, low and medium density hair.

How often should you receive maintenance services?

Once a month is fine.  This service is $150 and is pretty much a Silk Press Service with the extensions. Please bring any leftover extensions with you to this visit. Salon Maintenance is not required for K-tip extensions

How to shampoo hair with K tip extensions?

Washing and Styling Your K-Tip Extensions

1. Use a gentle sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner specifically formulated for extensions.

2. Wash your extensions in a downward motion to prevent tangling.

3. Avoid using excessive heat when styling and always use a heat protectant spray.

What products should I use to blend my curly natural hair with my curly hair extensions?

You can use products that are cream, custard, or foam based. I like Nairobi Foam wrap which can be ordered on Amazon and Mizani or Amika's leave in conditioners, Donna's Recipe Strength hair oil, and Donna's recipe Sweet Potato Pie Extra Creamy Leave-in Conditioner.. Please just avoid applying products to the keratin bond or tip to avoid slipping.

How should I maintain my extensions?

Brush hair with a detangling brush to remove tangles. If your extensions are curly, spray with water bottle, add leave in conditioner, and detangle with wide tooth comb and detangling brush. Put extensions up in a ponytail at night. Wear a scarf and/or satin bonnet to sleep. You can also put extensions in twists, braids, and rollers. Please ensure that you use quality hair products and heat protectants to protect your natural hair and extensions. When shampooing hair, use a sulfate free shampoo on the scalp and conditioner on hair extensions from. Avoid applying conditioner to the roots. To dry hair you can let hair air dry. Please ensure the hair is dry before sleeping. You can also sit under a hooded dryer with a low heat setting and or use a blow dryer on a low heat setting. Blow-dry from mid-shaft to ends to avoid any slippage.

Are K-tips a protective style?

No, K-tips are not a protective style. Your natural hair strands are left out. Its recommended to take care of your extensions as you would your natural hair. Please make sure you use leave in conditioners. Mizani 25 Miracle Milk leave in conditioner on curly hair. For Natural Wavy extensions I like Kenra Blow dry spray and Morrocan Oil! Also please ensure that you use a good heat protectant when using a blowdryer and or flat iron on your hair.

Can k-tips grow your hair?

 K-tips have been known to promote hair growth by allowing you to access your scalp. Since the hair is loose and not in a protective style. Proper hair maintenance is key to ensure the health of your hair. Detangle hair daily and pull extensions into a ponytail at night to avoid tangling. Sleep with a satin scarf and/or bonnet.

 

Can K-tips be customized to match my natural hair color and texture?

Yes, our hair extensions are Raw/Virgin hair extensions which can be colored to match your hair color. We offer Cambodian Wavy, Burmese Curly and Kinky Curly to match various hair textures.

Approximately how long does it take to receive K-tip extensions?

6 hours- 8 hours

Can I swim with my Ktip Hair Extensions?

Yes you can swim with your hair extensions. Please ensure that your hair is properly shampooed with a Clarifying or Swimming Shampoo. Also shampoo with a hydrating shampoo and follow up with a conditioner. Condition hair from mid shaft to ends. Avoid the roots of hair and tips of extensions. Also, do not sleep with wet hair extensions.
